I have an older Sentry in .25 cal. Besides the upper rail do you know if they made any changes to the internal operation of the rifle? Mine will only shoot a descending shot string as if the spring is not properly matched to the valve or the fill pressure is low.

I am willing to bet you have the rifle set on max power, use the adjuster to even out the shot string…..use another gauge to check the pressure in the rifle, they use cheap gauges…you can also safely up the pressure some. try 100 psi increments to smooth it out some do not exceed 3300 psi…don’t go for max power just find where the rifle wants to be

Hi Mike have a silly question? the Sentry HC Deluxe what dose the HC stand for? Going to get me one these when my taxes get in can not wait. Are these more accurate than the Sentry 702? Thank you for your time Mike

I really don’t know what the HC stands for, could be high count referring to higher than the standard Sentry. The .22 model does get around 65 shots depending on how it is adjusted…They are accurate right out of the box…as with all the rifles we sell it is tested for velocity and accuracy before it goes out the door..

I know I’m late to the party with this but, the ‘HC’ could stand for hunter carbine. Just a guess.

Ok, for the experts on these guns I have a quick question.
With 18.13gr. JSB Diabolos I get an average velocity of 820fps. and a solid 30 shots before velocity starts to drop off excessively. But with Crosman Premiers 14.3gr. and H&N Terminators 16.73gr. I get an average velocity of 865 fps for both pellets but only get 16 usable shots. Why os this? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

air is being wasted as adjusted on the lighter pellets…

    Good Mornin Mike..

Can these be “hand pumped” fairly easy? What is the air-tubes capacity in cc’s?

Which caliber do you feel the gun makes the best use of air with.. the .22 or the .25? I probably will Not be using it for hunting as much as I will for destructive plinking. lol

The 25SFB showed up Friday.. Thanks.

We’re going down Friday to AR. for the GTA Shoot in Horseshoe Bend, are you’s thinking of coming down?

hand pumping depends on what kind of shape you are in, take your time and it’s not bad…the .22 gets more shots per fill than the .25. sorry but won’t be going to the shoot…Mike

So today I was doing some power tuning for the 14.3gr. Crosman premier .22 pellets.
    Velocity became erratic 881fps- 344fps-873
etc. I picked the rifle up and heard something rattling inside. I took the rifle inside pulled the stock off removed the trigger cover and found a small screw inside the the trigger housing. I removed the screw, did a visual inspection ( found nothing), put the gun back together cocked it and full power had been restored. Is there possibly a screw inside that could come loose and fall out? Seems odd that the rifle returned to normal function if a screw had fallen out of the internals.
Btw the rifle is a Sentry 702 in .22 caliber. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

check the trigger group, could be from that and was blocking trigger from releasing, other than that have no idea, if it’s working keep an eye out for anything strange…

Ok so with some insight from Mike, I found where the screw came loose. Was able to get it back where it belonged( added a drop of clear nail polish to keep it from backing out again) and have shot a 20 shot string to verify the fix. First few shots were in the 910-918 range before the velocity string settled back down to where it normally sits at 867fps average for 20 shots with an ES of 31fps.
Thank you Mike for the assistance.

It’s nice when you can get it back up and running without a lot of work. I will be checking that screw on the rifles now, thank you.
